Tamar Toll Revision Application Public Inquiry summary:
The Public Inquiry into the application to revise tolls on the Tamar Bridge and Torpoint Ferry was held at the Copthorne Hotel on October 15th 2024. The hearing was originally scheduled to take up to four days but was completed in one day after the Inspector heard from all those giving evidence. Objectors to the toll revision application were given the opportunity to question the witnesses giving evidence on behalf of the Tamar Crossings, key points raised are summarised in the closing statements available to download at the links below. Giving evidence for the Tamar Crossings were:

Also present were representatives of affected businesses that had submitted objections, the China Fleet Country Club, CBL Plant Hire, Newman Haulage and a representative from the Road Haulage Association.
The Inspector is now considering all of the evidence and will prepare a report with a recommendation for the Secretary of State for Transport who will make the final decision on whether to make a formal Order authorising an increase in tolls on both the Tamar Bridge and the Torpoint Ferry. We will make our supporters aware of the outcome (and any next steps in our campaign) as soon as any information is available.
